I'm so tired of the vette motors in miatas. . . I wanna see a miata motor in a vette now!

No.

A four rotor is WAY, WAY different than a 4 cylinder.

A four rotor, each rotor has 3 combustion surfaces... a 4 rotor is more like a small 12-cylinder.

But it is proper payback for all the RX-7s with SBC/LS swaps.

And yes, I have really thought about putting a 20B Turbo rotary into a classic early C3 Corvette, as turn-about being fair play, and because I like early C3s, and rotary engines.

It is probably the one thing that pissed me off so much before I had mine. I got so tired of people wanting to know when I was going to drop a V8 in mine.

Would probably be faster than any of the boat anchors that were installed in the post'73 versions of the c3 anyway so why not?

I think people underestimate how much a V8 swap costs. But I still would like to put a 5.0 in my NB. But that is probably not going to happen.

It's different than putting in an LS1 or any other Corvette motor. I never looked at the cost as much as just how much more fun it would be to have a super turbo'd Miata that would outrun most of the cars in my town.

A bare bones V8 swap will run you at least $8,000 if you have some of the major components all ready. If you need to purchase all the tools and the drive train, chassis bracing and sub-frames and the suspension you can easily reach up to $18,000. That isn't counting labor. . .

It's like a $30k turn key at Flyin' Miata IIRC.

Yep not including the price of your donor car. I actually think it is >$35,000 though.

Oh my other point was that with $3-4,000 you can have 225-250 rice fed furious horsies stomping the ground via the FMII turbo kit. . .

Yep. I was looking to build up a 1.8 with FM stroker kit and when it was all said and done for the options I wanted, if I let them do it, the total would be ~$15k for the motor and turbo.

At that point in time you might be better off with a V8. . . for the $15,000 you are probably looking at the 300 horsie range and the bang for your buck doesn't seem to be there.

That is the damn problem with the BP motor. Mazda did too good of a job at maximizing its performance, granted you need a turbo to really see it as it was designed for FI. . .

Yeah, but I've also seen the one that has been set up to run 8's. Either way though, I didn't really care about the costs as much as retaining as much Mazda as possible. You are correct though, they did one hell of a job at optimization.
